About Us

    Who are the Scott sisters?

The Scott family has always had pets as part of their family.  It is in the Scott genes to love animals and not just tame ones. Besides our own pets the Scott girls have always tried to bring home every wild and stray we could find and add to the menagerie we already had.

Tricia (Scott) Mower knew from a early age that she loved animals and had dreams of becoming a vet.  After high school she chose to go to LDS Business College instead and then settled down to raise a family.  In 2002 she had the opportunity to learn from Gina at Gina's Groom and Board in Price Utah the skill of dog grooming.  She found she really enjoyed taking a dog and being about to use her artistic ability to bring out their full potential.  She finished her apprenticeship there and continued to work with Gina until she moved.

When she moved to Saratoga Springs she groomed out of her home while raising her 5 small kids and several foster children. In 2007 she started working at Happy Trails Grooming in Lehi, UT.  Soon after she started working there she was given the chance to lease the business from Happy Trails Tack.  While using her business skills, along with her grooming skills Tricia soon had more work than she could handle. She then started the process of training her sisters to groom and they found they really enjoyed working together.

Shalese Scott was the first to come.  She moved back to Utah from Texas to help Tricia with the shop.  She has an excellent understanding for each bred and a natural eye when it comes to styling them. She is currently the co-owner of Scotty's K9 Design with Tricia and manages the Mapleton Shop. Before learning to groom Shalese was studying in art.  She has painted several murals and countless oil and acrylic pictures.  She offers her art skills to any one who would like a painting.

Jenny Scott was the next sister to learn the skill of grooming.  She started working during the summer as a bather.  She worked very hard and soon worked her way up to an apprentice groomer. She is a great student and has become an excellent addition to our company. Jenny currently works on the weekends until school is out and then will help with the busy summer schedule.

Jessica Scott joined us soon after Jenny.  She is very artistic and also our perfectionist.  Jessica became our bather but it was soon apparent that her skills would be better used if she could groom also.  She is currently our apprentice groomer and she is doing an excellent job.  She may take a little bit longer because she wants every dog to be perfect but we don't get any complaints about that. As you see in the pictures Jessica and Jenny keeps us laughing and we all enjoy having each other to work with.

We quickly out grew the small space at Happy Trails Grooming, and learning of the need of more groomers in the Mapleton/Springville area we decided to provide our skills to that area.  We are very excited about opening a new shop in Mapleton and because we needed more of us in Mapleton it was apparent that returning to work from Saratoga Springs would also be a better fit.  So we left Happy Trails Grooming and Scotty's K9 Design LLC was created.
